How Are We Able to Use Leather

with the Exact Same Grain Size?

Because at Thierry Studio, we personally source our own leather.

 

If you look closely behind the name card,

you’ll see a faint sign that says "LAGUN TAURILLONS."

This is a type of leather produced by Rémy Carriat,

one of the world’s finest tanneries.

At Hermès, "LAGUN TAURILLONS"

is referred to as Clémence leather.

We personally visit authorized importers of genuine leather,

carefully inspect the quality, and only purchase the highest-grade

hides that meet our standards.

However, I can't always purchase

the exact leather I want every time.

Unlike Chinese-sourced leather, which is readily available in large quantities,

high-end leather is limited in supply.

 

If the available leather doesn’t meet our standards,

we return on another day to source only the best quality materials.

 

Leather is the foundation of an Hermès bag, and we never compromise,

even if it takes several extra days to secure the perfect hides.

Flawless, right?

Anyone familiar with Hermès craftsmanship knows

how important saddle stitching is.

Saddle stitching is a

hallmark of precision craftsmanship.

✅ Is stronger than machine stitching

✅ Creates a visually refined, high-end finish

 

Unlike machine stitching, saddle stitching takes considerably more time,

but the result is unmatched in durability and beauty.

Another key detail is the thread used for stitching.

Hermès exclusively uses Lin Câblé thread.

Next, let’s take a look at one of the most crucial details,

the hardware.

[Padlock Size & Color]

Padlock size and color are identical.
The same applies to the keys.

All hardware is 24K gold-plated.

The engraving on the padlock is slightly

deeper than the authentic piece.

 

The three-digit number at the bottom is slightly

more compact than on the original.
